The themed night performances will include a total of 17 artists, including Shi Shi Sun, Where Chou, OSN Gao, Li Chien-Na, and Chih Siou, aiming to surpass the grandeur of the previous year and create a tourism boom in Penghu.

Deputy Director Lin from the Tourism Bureau of the MOTC expressed deep gratitude to Legislator Yang Yao for his dedication in promoting autumn tourism in Penghu. His continuous support and valuable recommendations over the years have been instrumental in extending the peak tourism season and creating new highlights for the region. Last year’s inaugural “Penghu Music Festival” marked a significant milestone full of outstanding achievements. This year, the festival will continue to ride the wave and contribute to the development of the tourism industry. Additionally, in order to boost tourism in Penghu during the autumn and winter seasons, the “8th Penghu Autumn Festival” series of tourism activities will be organized. The main focus will be on the flagship event, the “2023 Penghu Music Festival,” while also incorporating other series of events such as the “2023 Penghu Golden Coast Music Carnival,” the “2023 Penghu Cycling Festival,” and the “2023 Gaillardia Islands Penghu Cross-Sea Marathon.” These endeavors aim to attract a greater number of visitors to Penghu during the summer and autumn seasons.

During the “8th Penghu Autumn Festival” series of activities, a special “Tourism Privileges Passport” will be launched, integrating various favorable projects. In addition to consolidating extraordinary discounts offered by friendly and high-quality merchants, the passport will also feature activities such as receiving rewards for reaching certain purchase thresholds and being entered into a grand prize draw by registering receipts for qualifying purchases. Published in electronic format online, this initiative aims to attract visitors to not only participate in Penghu’s scenic attractions, but also increase their willingness to engage in transactions with affiliated partner merchants. By doing so, it will foster the development of Penghu’s tourism industry and create a new pinnacle in national travel.

Furthermore, this year’s music festival will be enhanced by the enchanting ambiance of the “Luminous Island Ceremony,” illuminating the surroundings through a captivating theme. For the first time, the festival will incorporate mobile art installations created from the cultural landscape of Penghu, reminiscent of vibrant floats of the carnival festivities in Brazil. Additionally, the festival will bring the underwater world onto land, showcasing the dazzling elements of Gaillardia Island and transforming the surrounding lightscape into a mesmerizing and immersive experience. No longer mere embellishments, the radiant environment will leave an indelible impression on visitors, as they bask in the cool breeze of the summer and autumn nights, witnessing the unparalleled splendor of Penghu.
